Question 103
What is the ruling on music and songs?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Music is prohibited, songs are prohibited, and intentionally listening to them is prohibited. 'Listening' here means hearing with intention, unlike merely hearing something without intending to listen. The only permitted cases mentioned here are war drums and blowing a horn for signaling.
