What is your response to the proposed human head-transplant operation, in which the head of a donor who dies would be transplanted onto another body?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
I did not read a question in what you presented above, but in general a head transplant is not medically impossible. It will become easy and available when medicine advances in gene therapy and stem-cell treatment; it is simply a matter of time. Even if this operation fails, scientifically and practically the matter is achievable and is closely tied to medical progress. From the religious perspective, religion deals with the soul and religious duties are directed to the human soul. As for Sharia rights connected to the body, there are many details.
