A woman is not required to cover her face, hands, or feet. She must genuinely cover the rest of her body, meaning the clothing must not be thin or so tight that it describes what is beneath it. For example, there is no problem with trousers if she wears over them a robe or jacket extending to the knees and the visible part of the trousers is not tight enough to describe what is beneath. In some circumstances this may even provide greater covering. But if a woman wears trousers with nothing over them while wearing a head covering, this is not correct and is not considered religious hijab. Indeed, exposing the body's form by wearing trousers in this way is more serious than uncovering the hair and head.
