Question 89
A year ago I asked about exposing the hand or arm while studying and working in dentistry. I tried to propose alternatives such as wrist coverings and long gloves, but they refused and said the rule would become stricter the next year, so I left dentistry and moved toward pharmacy. I have now passed the preparatory subjects and applied to university. What is your guidance?

I ask Allah to make your matter easy in what is best for your Hereafter and your worldly life. If you want to study dentistry, I believe there are other options and the issue is not limited to exposing the arm or abandoning the field you want to study and work in. There are other universities, for example, that do not impose such conditions, and there are also medical gloves and other solutions. As for asking them, I do not think that brings much benefit; you can place them before an accomplished fact and they will be forced to find a solution, because your presence is for a temporary educational purpose and not for work.
