Question 102
What is the ruling on a woman using cosmetics? May she apply makeup, even a small and light amount, and go outside the home wearing it? Does the ruling differ between a married and an unmarried woman?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Adorning oneself with makeup and going out wearing it before men who are neither one's husband nor mahram relatives is not permissible. There is no difference in the ruling between a married and an unmarried woman.
