Question 128

A woman's husband has periodic episodes of mental illness and takes medication that keeps him normal, but when he approaches his wife for sexual intercourse the illness returns. What is the ruling on the wife refusing intercourse?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

She may not refuse her husband, unless it is for a period of time, for example in the hope that he will recover.
