Question 18
Does using a liquid wash through the vagina, or introducing liquid through a man's urethra for treatment, invalidate the fast?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Introducing liquid through the front passage—the male or female genital passage—does not invalidate the fast. An intramuscular or intravenous injection also does not invalidate the fast, except for a nutritive injection, which does. A liquid enema through the anus, such as one used to clean the digestive tract for examination or treatment, invalidates the fast.
