Question 52
What kind of illness removes the obligation to make up missed fasting? Must it be a severe illness leading to death within the year, or can it be any illness that may eventually lead to death?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
For any illness, if a person is unable to fast all or part of Ramadan and the illness continues until the next Ramadan, the make-up of the missed days from the previous Ramadan is no longer required, and he gives one mudd for each day.
