Question 65
If a deceased person had time to make up some missed fasting—for example, he was ill during the last week of Ramadan, recovered on the first of Shawwal, and died on the fifth—must his guardian make up that missed week?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
The answer is in The Laws of Islam: the guardian only makes up what the deceased had the opportunity to make up but neglected, except what was missed because of travel, which is made up even if the person died while traveling.
