Question 32
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. I am one of your Imami Shia brothers and am not someone fanatical about any idea presented in the social arena. I have some questions for clarification and confirmation of what I heard; Allah willing, what I heard is good. I ask you to be patient with me and my questions. I believe a person has the right to ask and investigate, especially concerning matters related to his religion and belief, and Allah, Glorious is He, commanded that. Thank you. First: I want to know the basis of the matter to which you have come to call and the story of Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan. According to you, he is the Imam’s vicegerent and messenger (a). What is the evidence for this vicegerency? Does he have miracles, since a miracle is decisive in these matters, especially in this time when those who make statements and claims are numerous-may Allah not make you among them? If what you say is so, what are the foundations upon which this call of yours stands? Please do not take some questions as fanaticism. My questions seek understanding, not denunciation. As long as I know nothing about you, positively or negatively, I am in a neutral position until Allah judges, and He is the best of judges. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah for His trial and His immense blessings. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. At the outset, I would like to thank Brother Abu Salih for the good manner of his correspondence and his search for the truth. I ask Allah the Exalted to grant you success in knowing, supporting, and remaining steadfast upon the truth. The basis of Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan’s call is that he is sent by Imam al-Mahdi (a) to unite the nation after this fragmentation, division, and loss, and to lead them toward supporting Imam al-Mahdi (a). As for the story of Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan, it is long and is available on the specified website under the title ‘The Story of My Meeting with Imam al-Mahdi (a).’ A complete answer to all your questions would be very lengthy. Please consult the publications of the Supporters of Imam al-Mahdi (a) on the specified website, especially The Clear Proclamation, Vol 1; The Decisive Response; The Crushing Response; and others. They are sufficient. Among the most important foundations of Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan’s cause are applying the sovereignty of Allah, Glorious and Exalted, and rejecting the sovereignty of the people-the Western democratic ideology. Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan examined this topic in his book The Sovereignty of Allah, Not the Sovereignty of the People, which you can read through the specified website.
