Question 44

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. I have a question I would like to put to Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan. It has been reported from you that you invalidate the religious authority of the scholars. How, then, is a legally responsible person to know the rulings of his religion? If it is said, ‘Take their statements but do not take their actions,’ this is contradictory: how can I take the statement of a person whose reliability and justice are impugned? Is it valid, for example, to learn uprightness from someone who is not upright? Please answer this question, with thanks. Abu Salih 29 Rabi al-Thani 1426 AH

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. You may ask about religious rulings, and I must convey the answer to you. Ahmed Alhasan Jumada al-Awwal 1426 AH
