Question 47

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. His Eminence Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan, peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. I offer you my respect and thanks for personally answering a question I sent you previously. Allah willing, I am acting upon it. If you do not object, I will continue corresponding with you if that does not hinder you, and I will continue following you. I have questions which I ask your respected self to answer personally, with thanks, even if they are trivial, seeking through them a clarification of truth and reality. I know that you answer every question in the Quran, Torah, and Gospel, according to your statement that I read and hear about: Question 1: Is it possible to know the details of your life before you were charged with this matter? If you would kindly do so, please give exhaustive detail-please, please, please. Question 2: When did you leave seminary study? Are you presently wearing clerical dress or not? Question 3: Where did you study in the religious seminary, and who were your teachers at that time? Question 4: How old are you now, according to the Common Era calendar? Question 5: Where were you with this call during the time of the tyrant Saddam, and why have you announced it now? Question 6: Is it true that Allah will extend your life until after the death of Imam al-Mahdi-may Allah hasten his relief-and that you will rule after him? Question 7: What is your opinion of the Mahdist Encyclopedia by Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr? Question 8: Do you have forefathers descended from Imam al-Mahdi who are alive in your time, younger or older than you? Question 9: Is Imam al-Mahdi-may Allah hasten his relief-your fifth forefather, as your Supporters claim? Question 10: Does Imam al-Mahdi-may Allah hasten his relief-continue to father children, male and female, and how many are there? Question 11: According to your estimation and your nearness to the Imam, what is the time or date of al-Hujja’s appearance-may Allah hasten his relief-even approximately? Question 12: Is Imam al-Mahdi-may Allah hasten his relief-married to more than one woman, or is he still with the same single woman? If he is married to more than one, do they know that he is the Imam himself, or do they think he is an ordinary person? Question 13: Have you traveled to Europe, Africa, or America to clarify the truth of your call or the affair of the Awaited Mahdi-may Allah hasten his relief? Question 14: Are any descendants of Imam al-Mahdi-may Allah hasten his relief-sinful or outside the law-may Allah honor them all? Question 15: Does Imam al-Mahdi reside in one place during the Major Occultation, or in several places? Question 16: What is Imam al-Mahdi’s duty during this period in which he sees killing and destruction? Question 17: Is it true that you know matters of the unseen, such as your telling your Supporters that you would be imprisoned, and many similar things? Question 18: Does your meeting with the infallible Imam occur at his request, or can you see him at any moment and whenever you wish? Are you not his son? Question 19: What is the nearest path leading to Allah the Exalted? Question 20: What is your advice to me? Please do not withhold it from me. I and those like me are among those whose hearts Allah has covered, but we seek the mercy of Allah the Exalted. My honorable master, the purpose of these questions is not to test or belittle you-Allah is witness to what I say. They are simply questions that we young people used to discuss among ourselves when mention of you and the cause you bear arose. That is all. I thank you for your patience and forbearance in accepting the questions. May Allah support you with His victory if you are truthful. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Abu Maryam from Basra

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Answer to Question 1: It is available on the website. Answer to Questions 2 and 3: I-and I seek refuge in Allah from the ‘I’-met Imam al-Mahdi (a) at approximately the beginning of my entry into the seminary and began learning from him. I did not concern myself with the Greek sophistry present in the seminary. Answer to Question 4: Approximately thirty-five years. Answer to Question 5: The call existed and was public during the time of the tyrant. I asked the people for allegiance, and many people in various provinces pledged allegiance: in Baghdad, Najaf, Karbala, Nasiriyah, Basra, Amara, and some districts. The tyrant Saddam attempted to arrest me at the time, but Allah saved me. This matter is itself a miracle, if you reason. Many people who pledged allegiance in the tyrant’s time are present now and are among the Supporters. You can ask them and learn the details from them. Answer to Question 6: Allah does what He wills, but I await death and meeting my Lord night and day. Answer to Question 7: It represents preparation for the Imam (a). Answer to Questions 8, 9, and 10: No. Answer to Question 11: I do not set a time. Answer to Question 12: Are you not ashamed of this question? What concern is the private life of the infallible one to you or anyone else? Answer to Question 13: No. Answer to Question 14: They are legally responsible like others. There is no difference between an Arab and a non-Arab, nor between white and black, except through Godwariness. Answer to Question 15: Several places. Answer to Question 16: Who am I to speak about the duty of Allah’s Greatest Guardian? Answer to Question 17: I know what Allah has disclosed to me through His grace and favor, and I do not speak of such things in order to prove the call. Answer to Question 18: Whenever he wills: ‘He said: If you follow me, do not ask me about anything until I myself mention it to you’ ([115]). Answer to Question 19: It is what is mentioned in the Quran: ‘They said: Was not Allah’s earth spacious enough for you to emigrate in it?’ ([116]); ‘Whoever emigrates in the way of Allah will find in the earth many places of refuge and abundance. Whoever leaves his home emigrating to Allah and His messenger and death then overtakes him, his reward has fallen upon Allah. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful’ ([117]). Allah’s earth and Allah’s way are the Proof over creation. The Imam is the path of emigration to Allah, and he is the nearest path leading to Allah. Answer to Question 20: Read Illuminations from the Calls of the Messengers, Vol 2, deliberately and reflectively. Ahmed Alhasan Jumada al-Awwal 1426 AH
