Question 125
How long should the Friday prayer last from the beginning of the call to prayer until the end of the two Friday-prayer units? Sender: Sabah Mahdi
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. No duration is stipulated, but it should be sufficient for the two sermons and the two prayer units. It is recommended for the Imam to keep the whole proceeding concise, avoiding both wearisome length and brevity that causes deficiency.
