Question 142

My master, vicegerent and messenger of Imam al-Mahdi (a), peace, Allah’s mercy, and His blessings be upon you. Many Supporters of Imam al-Mahdi-may Allah establish him on the earth-ask about obedience to one appointed by Imam al-Mahdi (a), or one appointed by the messenger of Imam al-Mahdi (a). Is it absolute or restricted obedience, even when outwardly it contains disobedience to Allah, the Exalted? Do we obey the Yamani of the vicegerent, or the Yamani of his Yamani, without discussion or inquiry?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Obedience exists within obedience to Allah. There is no obedience to a created being in disobedience to the Creator. Within this divine law, the leadership appointed for the divine believing community must be obeyed. Allah is the protector of all, Allah willing. Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan Vicegerent and Messenger of Imam al-Mahdi (a)
