Question 150
In Imam al-Husayn’s (a) supplication on the Day of Arafat: ‘O He who became established through His graciousness, so the Throne became unseen within His Essence; You effaced traces by traces and erased all others through the encompassing orbits of lights.’ What does ‘all others’ mean in my master al-Husayn’s (a) supplication?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Imam al-Husayn (a) explains the condition of the Messenger Muhammad (s) at the opening, when the ego was removed from the page of his existence in an instant, so that none remained except Allah, the One, the Subduer. ‘All others’ here are the darkness of the ego. When it was erased by the light, the Throne became unseen within the Divine Essence, so none remained except Allah, the One, the Subduer. For the picture to become clearer to you, refer to The Interpretation of al-Fatiha and The Allegories ([292]). Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan Vicegerent and Messenger of Imam al-Mahdi (a)
