Question 325

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. There is neither power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Almighty. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Peace be upon you, my master and guardian Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan, successor and messenger of Imam al-Mahdi-may Allah hasten his noble relief and establish him upon the earth for all people. I testify that there is no god except Allah alone without partner; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; I testify that Ali and the Imams from his descendants are the proofs of Allah; and I testify that the Mahdi Ahmed and the Mahdis from his descendants are the proofs of Allah. My master and guardian Ahmed, peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. My name is Abd al-Ghani. Until about four years ago I was one of the Sunnis. I learned of the school of the People of the House through al-Anwar satellite channel and began my journey of research until I became convinced of the Twelver Shia school. I continued upon that until I learned of the blessed Call by way of the internet, specifically the Paltalk room, by coincidence, since I had not heard of it before. I listened to the proofs of the Call, the lectures of the Supporter brothers, and debates with the Shia. This was about a month ago, approximately on the anniversary of the martyrdom of the piece of the Messenger (s), Jumada al-Awwal 1430 AH. I began reviewing some of your books, the first being The Laws and The Allegories, although I have not yet finished reading all the books. I sought guidance through the Noble Quran, and verse 90 of Surat al-Muminun came to me: ‘Rather, We brought them the truth, and indeed they are liars.’ I put my trust in Allah and believed in the Call-praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds-and began acting according to The Laws, but I did not know how to pledge allegiance to you, my master. Now I ask you how to make the pledge of allegiance to you, my master Ahmed. Is there a particular formula for the pledge? Must the pledge be public-I mean in the Supporters of Imam al-Mahdi room on Paltalk-or written? What rights and duties become incumbent upon me after the pledge? This is especially because I am in a country-Gaza, Palestine-where most people are Sunni and hate the Shia; indeed, they warn against the phenomenon of the spread of Shiism. I therefore ask you, my master, to direct me toward what will set my affair right. Sender: Abd al-Ghani - Palestine

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. May Allah grant you success in every good and keep every evil from you. Faith is a pledge of allegiance, so your faith, your readiness to work in the way of Allah, and your carrying out the work that is possible suffice. May Allah protect you and all believing men and women. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan
