Question 326

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May Allah send many prayers and abundant peace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you, my master, guardian, and son of my guardian, Ahmed Alhasan. May Allah make me a ransom for you, for your father, and for exalting the word of Allah (a). My master, were it not for losing hope in electronic messages-because either they do not arrive, or if they do, they arrive very late-I would have showered you with my jurisprudential and non-jurisprudential questions. I was asked to write an article about the Greater Dajjal. When I read the narrations mentioned concerning him in The Day of Deliverance and Iqd al-Durar fi Akhbar al-Muntazar, they weighed heavily upon me because I was unable to apply them to the actual situation. I therefore turned to you, after seeking guidance, to learn from the knowledge of the family of Muhammad-may my Lord’s prayers be upon them. I ask you to clarify what your grandfather Muhammad (s) intended in his hadiths concerning the Dajjal and the meanings of the descriptions stated about him. Another question: how does Allah (a) say concerning the people of Lot in Surat al-Saffat that we pass by them in the morning and at night-will you not then reason? ([61]). May Allah gather me with you in this world so that I may see you, take provision from you, support my Lord (a), and support you; and in the Hereafter, ‘I do not want a Garden without Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.’ I ask you to convey my greetings to my father, the Master of the Age. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Sender: Zaynab

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. May Allah grant you success in every good. Regarding your messages, Allah willing, they will be delivered quickly and correctly. I ask you to excuse your brothers for the previous defect in delivering the messages. You may send any question and, Allah willing, the answer will come to you by the grace and favor of Allah, Glorious and Exalted. As for the people of Lot, the trade route between the Hijaz and the Levant passed through their place upon which the punishment descended. The people to whom the Messenger of Allah Muhammad (s) called passed by it as they went to and returned from the Levant. As for us today, we pass by it in the Quran when we read their story. It is supposed to be a lesson from which we take heed, remember Allah, and fear His punishment and retribution. Ahmed Alhasan
