Question 328
1. In Surat al-Saffat, Allah (a) tells us that we pass by the people of Lot morning and night: ‘Indeed, you pass by them in the morning and at night. Will you not then reason?’ ([77]). How does this passage occur-is it material or in the kingdom of heaven? Is it connected to the feeling of distress and depression that overcomes us at sunset? 2. How do I overcome the ego? Does persisting in the prayer containing Ayat al-Kursi and the closing verses of al-Hashr help? Do repeated recitation cycles help? I ask you to direct me to the shortest paths and to supplicate for me and for my brothers who hope for it, that we be granted success. 3. Guide me, my guardian, to a key with which I may begin speaking about the Yamani Call so that hearts respond to me instead of recoiling. I have noticed, my guardian, that many people respond at first-in the first session-and then recoil, almost immediately in the second session. Sender: Zaynab
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Answer to Q1: I answered this question previously, and those responsible for the website were supposed to have sent it to you a long time ago. As for sunset, it is a time when Iblis-may Allah curse him-deploys his soldiers. It is best for the believer at that time to say ten times: ‘There is no god except Allah alone without partner. Dominion belongs to Him and praise belongs to Him. He gives life and causes death, causes death and gives life, and He is Living and does not die. Good is in His hand, and He has power over every thing.’ Answer to Q2: Performing acts of worship and supplication lies upon the path of fighting the ego, but the ego is not fought through worship and supplication alone. Sincerity in them is necessary, and Allah’s will must be placed before the human being’s will, until the human being’s will comes to an end and nothing remains with him except Allah’s will and acting upon it. Answer to Q3: Their guidance is not upon you; only conveying to them is. You possess enough evidence to establish the truth for any human being from any school. Indeed, you possess evidence that establishes your truth even with Buddhists and Hindus, let alone Jews, Christians, followers of all Muslim schools, and others. But let good character be the foundation of your dealings with people, for if they act badly, they act badly only against themselves and reveal what is within them. Also, let sincerity, drawing near to Allah, and seeking His satisfaction be the foundation of your work and your conveying the message to people, so that Allah may bless your work and place abundant good within it. May Allah grant you success, guide your steps, support you, and support His religion through you. Ahmed Alhasan
