Question 409

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. After I placed my trust in Allah, Glorious and Exalted, followed the truth, and supported you, my master and guardian, I found that when I listened to the Noble Quran I heard something other than what I used to hear. For example, after listening today to a recitation of Surat Ya-Sin, I found myself reflecting on the following verses: ‘And he presents Us with an example and forgets his own creation. He says, “Who will revive the bones when they have crumbled?”’ ([15]). ‘Is not the One who created the heavens and the earth able to create the likes of them? Yes indeed, and He is the All-Creating, the All-Knowing. His command, when He wills a thing, is only to say to it, “Be,” and it is’ ([16]). I say to myself that Allah, Glorious and Exalted, will recreate al-Husayn (a) in the time of Imam al-Mahdi (a), who will explain the injustice done to him. At that time, someone will say: How can Imam al-Husayn (a) be present when he is dead? This is while I had heard, before supporting you, my master and guardian, that Imam al-Mahdi (a), at the time of his appearance, would explain the injustice done to the People of the House (a) in some way. Am I-and I seek refuge from the word ‘I’-correct in this statement, or am I astray? Inform us; may Allah grant you victory. Sender: Umm Mustafa

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis. Contemplating the Quran, reflecting upon the signs of Allah, and seeking refuge with Allah and His guardians in order to understand the Quran, the Kingdom of the Heavens, and the unseen are matters encouraged by the Messenger Muhammad (s) and the Imams (a). You should therefore contemplate, reflect, and seek refuge with Allah and His guardians in order to understand the realities. This does not mean, however, that every understanding you have is true, because the self, desire, the world, and Satan may cause you to err in understanding the reality. Knowledge requires sincerity to Allah, Glorious is He, which protects the person from falsehood entering upon him. As for His words, the Exalted: ‘Is not the One who created the heavens and the earth able to create the likes of them? Yes indeed, and He is the All-Creating, the All-Knowing,’ they also apply to al-Husayn (a). But also contemplate His words, the Exalted: ‘to create the likes of them’-that is, the like of al-Husayn (a), not al-Husayn himself (a). May Allah grant you success in every good. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Dhu al-Hijjah 1430 AH
