Question 408
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. The Exalted said: ‘Glory be to the One who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed, so that We might show him some of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing’ ([13]). 1. How did the Night Journey occur: with the spirit only, or with body and spirit? 2. Did the Night Journey precede the Ascension, or did it come afterward? 3. What is meant by the Sacred Mosque and the Farthest Mosque? 4. What is the blessing with which the Farthest Mosque was distinguished, and what is meant by that which is around it? These are a group of questions that were put to the supporter brothers, and the questioner requested an answer from the successor and messenger of Imam al-Mahdi (a). The questioner is from the Ahmadiyya. We ask Allah to favor us with His pleasure and the pleasure of His guardian. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Sender: Hasan al-Jabiri
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis. A1: The Night Journey was with the spirit and the body together. The Ascension was with the spirit and the imaginal body suited to each heaven. The Exalted said: ‘In whatever form He willed, He composed you’ ([14]). A2: The Ascension occurred more than once. An Ascension occurred before the Night Journey, and another occurred after it. A3: The Sacred Mosque is the Kaaba. The Farthest Mosque is the House of the Lord, the house of drawing near, the house of offering, or the Temple of Solomon (a). It is called the Temple of Solomon because the prophet of Allah Solomon is the one who built it. A4: The blessing is the divine effusion descending upon the people of the earth. May Allah grant you success in every good. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Dhu al-Hijjah 1430 AH
