Question 425

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you, my father, Imam, and guardian. First, I do not know how to thank you for accepting me as a daughter to you, my master, guardian, and Imam, O Yamani of the family of Muhammad. I ask you to supplicate for me that I live up to your good opinion of me, my dear father. I ask Allah to grant us success in meeting you, direct you, grant you victory, and establish you upon the earth. In many verses Allah speaks in the plural form. Examples include: - ‘Indeed, We sent it down on the Night of Decree’ ([38]). - ‘If you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our servant, then produce a surah like it’ ([39]). - ‘We certainly established you upon the earth and made for you livelihoods within it; little are you grateful’ ([40]). And many other verses. The question, our Imam and guardian, is: Why does Allah, Glorious and Exalted, speak in the plural form? Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. I ask Allah to hasten your relief, make me among your servants, and not let me disobey a command of yours for the blink of an eye, O Allah, O Generous. Sender: Sadiyah - Morocco

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. May Allah grant you success in every good, make your steps firm, and make you among those through whom Allah grants victory to His religion. Know-may Allah grant you success-that Allah has workers whom He favors and employs to deliver His messages to His prophets and messengers and to accomplish whatever He wills to occur in this physical world. Allah’s workers are from His creation, whether angels or human beings. Allah, Glorious and Exalted, mentions them and associates them with Himself-even though they work through His power and strength and by His command-as generosity and favor from Him, Glorious and Exalted, toward them, and because He is the Generous One who gives much in return for little. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Rabi al-Awwal 1431 AH
