Question 482

Sayyed Ahmed Alhasan, my Imam and the son of my Imam, peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Many years ago, before I believed in your Call and even before I had heard of it or your noble name, I saw a vision. Certainty entered my heart that Imam al-Mahdi (a) had appeared, and I began calling people to believe in him, but I forgot this. After I believed in the Call, I greeted you between myself and Allah, the Exalted. I immediately remembered the vision and began weeping greatly. I understood that Allah intended to tell me that the Mahdi I saw in the dream was the same Yamani (a) in whom I had just believed and whom I had just greeted. Is this the message Allah, Glorious is He, intended? Then I saw messages from Imam al-Mahdi (a) reach me. After my first vision, which I related to you, I saw the sky open and letters of light write within it, ‘There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.’ I saw this vision twice, with complete and manifest clarity both times. I also saw that I was at the Kaaba. I saw two short black men smoking in the Sacred House, drove them out, and prayed inside the noble Kaaba. I saw the Night of Decree after keeping vigil on the night of the twenty-third, and angels of light were descending upon the earth. During this month of Ramadan I saw my spirit ascend into heaven. I think the first heaven opened for me. This vision occurred after I believed in the noble Call, and it was the first time I saw heaven while sleeping, with my heart pounding and my spirit flying high in heaven until I saw stars. During Ramadan I also saw the coffin of Imam Ali (a). In Ramadan I felt sensations I had not felt before this Call. I also saw the Day of Resurrection and the sky raining punishment and comets. Please interpret the visions for me and supplicate for the guidance of my mother and siblings. I ask you to supplicate that Allah guard me from the incitements of the devils. When I read the book The Journey of Moses to the Junction of the Two Seas, I understood through inspiration from Allah, as I thought, that some matter concerned me. Please interpret the visions, my master, O Yamani of the family of Muhammad (a). I also have a question. What I understood is that Muslims up to Imam al-Sadiq (a) were charged only with believing in the Twelve Imams (a), without the Mahdis. Why did the Shia not adopt belief in the Mahdis without ‘amhadin’ [as printed], and what were the circumstances of this matter? I want clarification of why the affair of the Mahdis was concealed and that of their First (a) encoded. May Allah protect you, my master, and prolong our lives so that we may support you when you emerge. What is the secret behind people like me seeing a vision of Imam al-Mahdi (a) without asking for it and without knowing that he has appeared? Our final supplication is praise be to Allah alone, alone, alone for His blessing of you, my master. Sender: Abdullah - Sweden

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. May Allah grant you success in every good. Praise Allah, Glorious and Exalted, that He made the truth known to you, let you hear the cry of truth through His grace and favor, provided you with seeing the truth in His Kingdom, and made you among those who hear His words, Glorious is He, comprehend them, and believe them. Your vision of heaven opening and the testimony ‘There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’ being written within it means a new message like the message of Muhammad (s), because the Mahdi is also a messenger and a giver of glad tidings and warning like his forefather Muhammad (s). The Mahdi also restores the practice of his forefather Muhammad (s) after the people of falsehood and deviation effaced it. The Messenger of Allah Muhammad (s) said: ‘Islam began as something strange and will return as something strange just as it began, so blessed are the strangers’ ([62]). The beginning of Islam as something strange was through the Call of Muhammad (s), and the return of Islam as something strange will be through the Call of the Mahdi. May Allah grant you success in every good. Your vision of the two short black men smoking, your driving them out, and your praying inside the Kaaba means that the people who control the House of Allah are false, because they were black and short, and this indicates that they are false. Their shortness also indicates the weakness of their objection and fabrication against the right of the People of the House (a). The smoking indicates a distress that will afflict and befall them as a result of their actions and the evil and harm that issue from them. Allah willing, you will be among the supporters of the Mahdi who will drive these people out of the House of Allah. May Allah grant you success. Your other visions are nearly clear. The coffin of Imam Ali (a) indicates his knowledge and what he (a) left among the people: the household of Muhammad and Ali (a). I ask Allah to grant you success in every good and favor those of your family for whom guidance has been written with guidance. He is my Guardian, and He takes charge of the righteous. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Dhu al-Hijjah 1430 AH
