Question 490

A vision seen by a friend of mine: The dreamer and I were in a place speaking about an important matter. While we spoke, before us was a pool from which a paralyzed person emerged. He came out of the pool and stood before us. He had a piece like that of a fish, split along his back, and the majestic name of Allah was written upon the fish-like part. We were amazed and thought that he was one of Allah’s guardians. It appeared that I too believed this, so we welcomed him warmly. We spoke with him, and while we spoke we were eager for his conversation and awaited his every word. He began asking us questions: how many people do we know, and whom do we know? At first, the dreamer did not doubt him, but after some time he suspected that the man was deceiving us to draw us into a scheme. The dreamer took me aside and told me, ‘Do not tell him anything, because I feel there is a deception in the matter, that he is deceiving us and is not a guardian. Do not open your heart to him or believe him.’ I gestured yes in reply. I had been speaking with the person who emerged from the water while happy and delighted with him. While the dreamer spoke with and warned me about him, I nodded and said I agreed. The children of the shaykh whom my friend follows were at the bottom of the train, so the dreamer became distracted from me and began running after them in an effort to save them.
