I am the grandson of the imam, Sheikh Muntasir ibn Haydar ibn Hashim of the Al Nu‘aymi family. My grandfather, Imam Muntasir, died in 1388 AH in Jazan, Saudi Arabia. He was one of the scholars of the doctrine of the Household, but, as a precautionary measure, he converted to the Salafi doctrine because of the mission of Sheikh Abdullah al-Qar‘awi and his students in Jazan. They burned his books and the books of his learned forefathers, and he was harmed in the path of Allah. The important point is that after his death, we found a written will in his handwriting in which he said: ‘Know that the time of the Yamani of the family of Muhammad has drawn near. If you hear of his call, then turn your direction of prayer to wherever he is. O Allah, by the right that the family of Abu Muhtahit and the family of Jirmad have upon You, grant Your servants victory and establish them in the land.’ What must we do now that we have heard of your call? Please inform me: what did my grandfather mean by changing the direction of prayer? Is this action in accordance with the truth or not? What do the family of Abu Muhtahit and the family of Jirmad mean, and what is their station? Please explain, for we are largely ignorant of the doctrine because we were forcibly converted to the Salafi doctrine, as I mentioned to you. Sender: Muntasir al-Hasan - Saudi Arabia
