Question 587
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. I adjure you by your father, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Askari-peace be upon him, and may Allah hasten the advent of you both: are these your supporters, when because of their character we are moving away from the truth? My husband now fights us through his conduct and says, ‘Enough, I have found the proof against you.’ He has abandoned the upbringing of the children and his responsibility. I see them preoccupied with this world, and they say, ‘It is enough that we believe.’ Is this correct? It is merely a word he says. Where is the Muhammadan character? I see nothing but cursing, wrongdoing, and their gatherings against people. Is this how this call is conveyed? At the slightest problem, he threatens us. Is this correct? When will you come and give us safety and stability? When will we see your radiant countenance? Is he obligated to convey the call with bad character, when the other person will flee? He says, ‘I am one of the Imam’s supporters.’ I ask you to clarify this for me and to send them counsels. I adjure you by Allah’s Sovereignty to reply to me quickly. I implore you, and I am waiting for you to take care of us amid the oppression in which we live. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Sender: Z. R.
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. I ask Allah to set right the conditions of all believing men and women in that which is best for their Hereafter and their worldly life. The prophets and vicegerents came only to reform people and spread good character among them. Whoever says that he is among the Shia of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad must adopt their character and behave well with his family and with people.
