Question 686
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. My mother is not a supporter and does not allow me to attend the supporters’ gatherings. May I attend the supporters’ gathering to commemorate death anniversaries when she is traveling and does not know, given that my father is not a supporter but allows me to do so and even encourages me? We ask Allah’s forgiveness for our shortcomings. Zahraʾ - Sultanate of Oman
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. It is not obligatory to obey her in this matter. Since your father-may Allah protect him-supports what you do in obedience to Allah, place your trust in Allah. May Allah grant you success and direct your steps aright.
