Question 687
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. While I was cooking chicken, liquid red blood kept bubbling out of it for some time. Whenever I cleaned it, the blood continued to come out. Is this natural? What is the ruling concerning this blood, and is it permissible to eat this meat? We purchased the chicken alive, and the slaughterer slaughtered it before us. May Allah reward you with the best reward. Zaynab - United Arab Emirates
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. There is no problem with it, and it is permissible to eat it. The blood remaining in the slaughtered animal’s body after slaughter is pure.
