Question 694
Peace be upon you. O Allah, send abundant prayers and peace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis. I have a question, my master and guardian-peace be upon you, O oppressed one-which I convey on behalf of my sister: Is it permissible to spend the money a sick person receives from social services and social security upon the house and the family living there, despite the sick person’s need for it, without giving him what he wants-meaning that everything else is given precedence over him? Peace be upon you, my master and guardian, and we ask for your supplication. Abu Muhammad al-Ansari - Saudi Arabia
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. The money paid to the sick person belongs to the sick person, so it is not permissible to spend it without his permission.
