Question 715
Peace be upon you. What is the ruling concerning working in banks if the questioner has no respectable alternative? In Saudi Arabia we suffer pressures and difficulties in obtaining work. Is it permissible to lie or forge minor certificates in order to obtain a difficult-to-secure job? What are the differences among the uncorrupted Torah, Gospel, and Quran? Sender: Mahdi Malik - Saudi Arabia
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. It is permissible to work in banks. It is not permissible to forge graduation or educational certificates. The true Torah and Gospel are part of the Quran, and the Quran exercises authority over them. May Allah grant you success in every good and direct your steps to what contains the good of the Hereafter and this world. He is my Guardian, and He takes charge of the righteous. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
