Question 721
As is known, if a fasting person dives into the sea-for example, to pass the time-his fast becomes invalid. The question is: if not even a drop of water enters his mouth, why does his fast become invalid? What is the scientific reason that invalidates the fast? Please inform us, our pure guardian.
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send abundant prayers and peace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis. The religious ruling is a devotional ruling for testing creation. It need not have a cause beyond this. May Allah grant you success and direct your steps aright.
