Question 737
I have a religious question concerning my father’s house, in which my unmarried brothers, sisters, and I lived. We are four brothers and seven sisters. The house was built upon a plot belonging to the owner of an orchard and registered in his name, which the state had previously appropriated. After the occupation, this land returned to its original owner. The orchard owner agreed with the owners of the houses built upon his land during the former regime that he would give only the married members of each family a plot of land in place of their father’s house. One of the brothers did not receive a plot, but received seventeen million dinars in place of it. He asks whether his sisters have an inheritance share in this amount, given that the house was sold as rubble, and his brothers took it while he received nothing from the house.
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
According to the situation described in the question, the amount belongs to the one who received it, and he does not have to give any share of it to another. Ahmed Alhasan
