Question 738
In Iran there are private companies that build homes and sell them before completing them. They take part of the amount as an initial payment and the remainder in installments. The installments on the purchased home extend for approximately ten years and are easy to pay. It is known that with installments the price differs from a cash sale, while home prices change every day. Is it permissible for us to purchase these homes, and is this type of installment plan usury?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
You may purchase one, and this is not considered usury.
