Question 766
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Peace be upon you, my master and guardian, the Riser of the family of Muhammad (a) and their Yamani. This is a question from one of the brother supporters: Do grandchildren inherit from their grandfather when he dies, given that their father died before their grandfather? Also, does the wife of the deceased son, who has no children by him, inherit anything from the grandfather when he dies? Sender: Raʾid - Iraq
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Grandchildren whose father died during his father’s lifetime do not inherit from the grandfather if the grandfather has living sons or daughters. The son’s wife does not inherit from his father.
