Question 767

What parts of buffalo, cattle, and sheep may not be eaten? Some people eat the spleen for healing; is it permissible? Sender: Hadi (Abu Hasan) - Iraq

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. It is not permissible to eat the blood, spleen, reproductive organs, bladder, cartilage, or spinal cord. Eating the kidneys is disliked, and eating from the shoulders is recommended.
