Question 811 - The Enlightening Answer Across the Ether, Vol 7

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Envy is wishing that a matter or blessing be removed from another person because it pleases you, or for any other worldly reason. Deliverance from envy is not wishing for a blessing or anything that pleases you to be removed from a person. Rather, when you see one of Allah’s blessings with a servant, pray that Allah increase him from His bounty and grant you well-being and His satisfaction, Glorious is He. There is another matter: the human soul affects what a person’s gaze falls upon and finds pleasing or astonishing, even when he does not wish for it to disappear in some cases. Therefore, when you see something that pleases or astonishes you, remember Allah and send prayers upon the Seal of the Prophets and his family. May Allah grant you success, make your steps firm, and make you among His soldiers, friends, and party. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
