Question 814

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and his family, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Praise be to Allah who, through our brothers, opened for us this nearby door to the Qaʾim of the family of Muhammad (may Allah send prayers upon him and his family), and may Allah reward them with the best reward of the doers of good. I saw that I was carrying the good kind of bread we bake at home, which in Morocco we call batbout, to a group. Suddenly the group began pelting me with stones. I fled and entered a simple house where I found a tall, dark-complexioned person. It occurred to me that he was my maternal uncle, whose name is Muhammad. I found him sitting on the ground before a small, simple table, seemingly preparing for lunch. I placed the bread on the table for him and he smiled at me. Praise be to Allah alone. I seek Allah’s forgiveness if I forgot anything or erred in transmitting it. Sender: Your servant Shafiq - Morocco

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. The bread is testimony in Allah’s way. You carry this testimony to people and ask them to testify to the truth, so that as a result they may be alive with their Lord and provided for, and be written in the register of eternal life. It appears you carried this testimony to people unworthy of it, perhaps among those dead in the Hereafter whose names are not written in the register of life and who are unworthy to testify to the truth, Allah’s religion, and Allah’s vicegerent. As for the person to whom you carried the bread, placed it upon his table, and who accepted it, he too is a person to whom you will carry the testimony of truth. Allah willing, he will accept it, Allah will write him in the register of life, and he will be among the martyrs who are alive with their Lord and provided for.
