Question 167

If a person works every other day or every other week and travels more often than remaining at home, but the work is unstable—perhaps lasting a week, a month, or two months, with no known duration and in any case less than six months, through month-to-month contracts, daily work, or no contract—what is the ruling?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

Such a person does not perform full prayers until six months of this work have passed. If the person continues in this condition for six months, then after that the person performs full prayers even if the contract is only for a week or the work is daily.
