Question 115

May the imam of Friday prayer hold a weapon in the hand while delivering the sermon?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

It is disliked for the imam to lean on a weapon unless there is fear and an expectation that it may be needed. It is recommended to lean on a staff, a post, or a wooden platform.
