Question 67

A believer recited the adhan and iqamah and began the prayer, but during the prayer something occurred that invalidated it. After performing wudu, must he repeat the adhan and iqamah because he left the place to go for wudu?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

He does not repeat the adhan and iqamah. The one who repeats them is someone who leaves his place of prostration, turning away from the prayer to another activity. This believer left his place of prostration only to perform wudu for the prayer, so he did not turn away from the prayer to another activity.
