Question 6

Is it valid to determine a kurr by kilograms?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

It is not valid when there is a choice, but it is permissible in necessity. Mass is equated with volume, and if the density is not known it is taken as one; that is, every 1 kilogram is treated as equivalent to 1 liter. Thus, 457 kilograms equals 457 liters.
