Question 12
Al-Shara'i states: ‘It is disliked to perform purification with water heated by the sun in a vessel.’ Does this refer to deliberately heating water in the sun, or does the ruling include any water that is exposed to the sun, such as tanks on rooftops?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
The phrase ‘It is disliked to perform purification with water heated by the sun in a vessel’ refers to water that is heated by the sun while uncovered. If it is covered, there is no dislike, even if it was deliberately heated by the sun.
