Question 166
We are a group living in a rural area. It is commonly said that our ancestors seized this land, but we do not know whether it was the fourth grandfather or someone earlier, which tribe it originally belonged to, whether it was inhabited or dead land, or anything else about it except the family account that our ancestors took it through tribal raiding that was common at the time. What is the ruling on this land, given that we have lived there generation after generation?
