Question 160
An elderly woman who works as a teacher was persecuted under the former regime and has relatives who were imprisoned and killed by that regime. She has more than 27 years of service and wants to retire, but she was told that more than 30 years of service is required. Some relatives told her that under the law her service can be counted as more than 30 years because she has imprisoned and martyred relatives from the former regime's period. Retirees with more than 30 years of service may also receive an advance payment or loan. What is the ruling on this money; is it permissible?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
It is permissible.
