Question 108
If an animal is slaughtered while suspended by its legs, while all Sharia requirements are observed such as directing its front toward the qibla, pronouncing the name of Allah, cutting the required vessels, and not severing the spinal cord, is the slaughter lawful?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
There is no problem with this method of slaughter. What matters is that the front of the slaughtered animal is directed toward the qibla; it does not matter that it is suspended by its legs with its head downward.
