Question 158
My question is: have I committed a sin, and will God hold me accountable for this? I am always sad and distressed and constantly crying. Please help me. I want to feel at ease even for one day.
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
There is no power and no strength except through God, the Most High, the Almighty, and through Him we seek help. God, Glorified is He, is the Forgiver of sins and the Concealer of faults. He forgives the sins of those who seek forgiveness and repent, to the point that He causes the recording angels to forget what they wrote and even causes the earth on which the repentant person sinned to forget the disobedience committed upon it. If you have sinned, God accepts the repentance of those who repent and forgives those who seek forgiveness. Indeed, among the most beloved of creation to God is a young person who repents from sin. If you were not at fault, then God recompenses both oppressors and the oppressed for the wrong committed and the wrong suffered. Do not fear that God will treat you unjustly. Increase your remembrance of God, and do not let Satan deceive you and lead you into paths far from obedience to God, such as suicide or anything else that does not please God. Know that hearts find tranquility through the remembrance of God.
