Question 85
We discovered that my mother had a bladder tumor before Ramadan. I asked you and the believers to pray for her, and we pursued medical treatment as well as folk remedies. She used a treatment mentioned in Diya' al-Salihin consisting of powder made from a sea animal called ‘Abu al-Janib’—crab—after roasting it, placing the powder into capsules and taking it. Is this treatment lawful or forbidden?
