Question 111
A man severely beat his wife until marks appeared on her body, and he also beat his daughter because she rejected a marriage proposal. Does he owe financial compensation, and what is the ruling on the beating?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
He must seek forgiveness for what he did. As for financial compensation, the injured person should bring the matter before the religious court so that it can determine whether there is an injury for which compensation is due.
