Question 120
A man had a girlfriend with whom he had sexual relations without a contract. He later contracted a temporary marriage with her, and afterward married her permanently. What is the ruling?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
If he had intercourse with her through zina before the contract while she was married or in a waiting period, she becomes forbidden to him after her divorce or after the end of her waiting period. If she was not married and was not in a waiting period, he may marry her.
