Question 2
If a person forgets the intention at night and does not renew it before noon, what should he do when the fast is obligatory, such as Ramadan or a day he vowed to fast?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
If he does not intend to fast until after the sun has passed noon, neither an obligatory nor a recommended fast is valid. He must make up the obligatory fast, and if he deliberately omitted the intention, he must make it up and also offer the expiation.
