Question 3
If a person did not intend to fast at night, but in the morning wants to intend an obligatory fast such as a make-up fast, or a recommended fast, is that valid?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Yes. As explained in The Laws of Islam, the time for the intention lasts until noon. So long as he has not done anything that breaks the fast, he may intend the fast before noon.
